I agree, I like how Superman is portrayed here in Young Justice. It shows how real he is...I dunno. But don't you think it would be awkward if he just automatically had a bond with his clone?

That's not to say he doesn't care for Superboy, he just feels like he shouldn't be the on to take care of Superboy.

Anyway, this is one of my favourite interpretations of the Man of Steel. I wasn't too fond of him in JL/JLU, all he was there was a punching dummy, though I did like the episode where he's against Captain Marvel. xDD Never watched S:TAS though. The other Superman that I really liked was in the DTV film Superman & Shazam the return of Black Adam. Don't know why, but he really stood out to me in that film. Smile

I can't honestly say that I'm a Superman fan but I do really like the Young Justice version of him.

Superman fans. Oi, -_- I'm going to quote someone, from ToonZone I think. He/She said
"If Superman isn't shown to be better than Jesus Christ the fans go ballistic."
And sadly, I think thats true. :b Makes me want them to turn him into that teenage emo with a mullet just to annoy the fans. But I really like Superman in YJ. He has a lot more depth then in a lot of other versions and he's more likable and relatable once we see his flaws. As Darkseid said "You are still merely a man" :b

I have to say...Batman playing advice giver-Not a good idea(considering the ruins in which his life's social realationships lay) but still, hilarious to watch. Supermmans reaction to the advice was even better0does make him see more real...

Whoever said that hit the bullseye. Agreed, this interpretation shows a lot more depth and makes him more real.

And why is it weird for Batman to be giving out advice? Honestly, I think that they made it a good choice to have Bruce talk to Clark the way he did. Bruce has already taken in a fatherless Dick Grayson and will take in many other children in the future. Jason, Tim, Damien, you could even say that to some of the Batgirls. If anyone knows what it's like to be Fatherless and in Superboy's position, it's Bruce. After all, he practically raised himself in a parentless home. Thank goodness he had Alfred.

I do know that the situation is different between Superboy and Superman, with Batman willingly taking in boys and Clark finding out that people were secretly growing Super-Spawn in a test tube with the end result suddenly following him around, looking for a Father-like person to guide him. With this in mind, I understand why Clark acts the way he does and I like that his response is that of which I think any normal person would react. One that is more real, that you can almost relate to and isn't just a god on earth.

Also, I really like his character design here. Razz

His character design really makes him look like a person-not an all american beachboy like other shows.

i dont like superman. i get that hes freaked out about suddenly having a sixteen year old "son", and i like that hes portrayed as being more human, but i have no mercy to a guy who's willing to give his life to save the world but rejects his kid T_T such a jerk.
The scene where he was eating pie with batman did make me laugh though. Two giganticly tall guys, two people wide, with muscles practically bulging out of their suits who scream "SECRET IDENTITY OF A SUPERHERO" trying to have a casual lunch was just plain funny.

It's not that he's rejecting him, it's just he doesn't know what exactly to do with him.

This super-clone of yourself was created to be your replacement. All of the sudden he has a teenager looking for a father in Superman. Remember, there are times when Superman hangs up the cape and becomes Clark Kent too, right? How awkward would it be for him to just suddenly bring this kid into his 'normal' life? Now he has to explain to Lois (who I'm going to assume for comics!conitinuity sakes, that he has a thing for.) that he has a son, who's really NOT his son, living with him, which might cost him his secret identity. I never really thought of Lois as a genius, but it really shouldn't be too hard to put 2 and 2 together and if she doesn't, she'll just assume he was one of those teenage fathers or something.

Could he have left them with Ma and Pa Kent? I guess, yes he could. But that brings up another question. How sure are we, that we can even trust this clone? Could he still be working for cadmus unknowingly? Is it safe to let Superboy see the other side of Superman? His real life? Perhaps he's afraid. He would never want to put his parents in harm's way.

Overall, I don't think he doesn't care about Superboy, I think he just believes that he should not be reponsible of this clone. He truly believes that the best place for him is under Batman's care and with the Young Justice team. Besides, Superboy is not really his kid. Superman had absolutely nothing to do with the creation of Superboy and doesn't really HAVE to be responsible of him. Why should he? What if Cadmus is creating a Superboy farm? Should he feel attached and become the father to all of them?
If he does become the father figure, or something like that to Superboy, then good on him. Especially since he doesn't have to.

ah, true...and Lois is fooled day in and day out by a pair of clear lensed glasses, she is definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed.
I still think superman could be a little nicer to superboy though. the least he could do would be to help teach him a little about kryptonian powers. though i suppose if all that cadmus stuff turns out to be true, a superboy with flight and eyebeams is even more dangerous then regular superboy.
